Tough Mudder 2015
This year’s bootcamp was a 12 week training program to prepare us for Tough Mudder. Tough Mudder this year was held in the Glenworth Valley, and by all reports the muddiest yet! We had just one of our members not make it, as she was sick, but everyone else was early and chipper, and rearing to go!
Just to get to the start line, we had to scale a 2m wooden fence. We then ran together to the first obstacle and slid into a muddy pit together, then our runners and walkers split up.
The obstacles this year were different to last year’s tough mudder. We had to crawl under barbed wire, swing from ropes and bars, crawl through tunnels, smokey dens, and passage-ways that pushed us flat (called the “birth canal”). Of course, we traversed every kind of mud – muddy water, sticky and gooey mud, compacted and firm mud, slippery, boggy, and sucks-you-in stype mud.
Everybody finished, the runners in 3.5hrs (they ran between every obstacle), and the walkers in 4.5hrs. Apparently Jade let them on a few short cuts too!
Well done team for completing the tough mudder challenge, it certainly was tough but we did it!
