On Sunday, half of our run club braved the “Arctic cold snap” and fronted up to The Rocks at 6.45am for a 10k “fun” run! It was seriously icy, and they were lucky to get a lift into the city, rather than having to brave the Manly Ferry!
Two of the 4 runners that participated were beginners, having never run before this year’s group, so they were nervous about completing the distance in the required time. They made it, though! In their best time as well!
The Sydney Harbour 10k is a picturesque run that winds around Sydney Harbour (duh!). It is a multi-charity event, raising money for a variety of good causes like the Leukaemia Foundation and WWF. They have a great training program with lots of tips. You can see the full results and photographs at the event page: Sydney Harbour 10k !
These are the results that matter to us though:
- Madstar in 50min 54sec came 1729th!
- Jules in 1hr 8min came 3496th!
- Sandra in 1hr 22min came 3761st!
- Di exactly 1 split second behind, came in 3762nd!
Well done guys, champion effort to run in such tough conditions!
