Second Week of Hiking Group – Manly Dam

This week we met in the afternoon at Manly Dam, intending on hiking the full bush circuit (9km). We started with a quick dash over the reservoir bridge, because we had 3 dogs between us and they aren’t allowed on there, however they are allowed on the walking trails!

In general, the team was kitted out better than last week, with everyone carrying enough water, food, and electrolyte to make the distance.

Needless to say, it was still hard. And it is surprisingly easy to get lost! Which we did, but not until right at the end, and it turned out to be a 2km shortcut!

It still took us two hours, with Jade loaded up with 15kg Evie, Clare with 8kg Maia, and all the slippery, rocky hills!

Everyone made it easily this week, a reassuring sign that we are getting fitter already!

Our homework this week is hiking 4 x 30-60min, plus one gym session.
