Run Club had it’s first session scheduled for Saturday, amid the wild weather warnings. I was quite chuffed when everyone came!! We had mercy on the group and went through the weight program instead of going for a run. Special thanks has to go to Jade, Claire, and Dave, who we inconvenienced by filling up the gym with our damp and sweaty bodies!!
The weight program breaks down a good running technique into parts, which we practise in a slow and controlled manner. Then we address the mobility and flexibility of the joints with some explosive work. There would have been a few sore bodies after that!
The nice part about doing the weights, is that the program is only 30 minutes long, so we had plenty of time to stretch and perform some releases before we left.
Run Club is now on special, because we haven’t got any singlets left. You can still join us a enjoy the benefits of exercising with a group for a specific event!
