Make One Change Feb 2019: Meditate

Stress has an incredibly detrimental effect on our health – on parr with plastics, chemicals, and smoking! Stress can contribute to heart disease, infertility, premature aging and heaps more. However, there’s good news! Regular, consistent meditation effectively works as an antidote to the effects of stress, and therefore decreasing your risk of all those nasty health issues. 10min – 20min, 3x week is all it takes!

Um… I meditated? It sounds less than what it is. After all 80% of us is or will be a parent, and we are teaching our children how to live. So yeah, I meditated, and there's two little kids out there watching me and learning, who will be a smaller load on our health system as a result ???? #Repost @least.waste • • • • • I am trying to spread awareness about the impact of single use plastic on our environment. And trying hard to bring some of possible alternatives in our store. One that serves the environment and does away with single use plastic and enables us be a part of "the circular economy" aka least waste life style. Care to know what it is? So, as it happens, there is a downside to meditating: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-science-behind-behavior/201604/the-little-known-downsides-mindfulness-practice from @psychologytoday (link will work on Facebook, go there if you don't want to type it out). Possible negative effects include: ☮Forming False Memories ☮Discarding Positive Thoughts ☮Avoiding Difficult Thinking Activities ☮There are also reports of depersonalization (feeling detached from one’s mental processes or body), psychosis (loss of contact with reality) with delusions, hallucinations, and disorganized speech, feelings of anxiety, an increased risk of seizures, loss of appetite, and insomnia. This is particularly relevant for people with PTSD So there you go. It's still a hugely beneficial practise for most of us, but worth being aware that there's 2 sides to everything. #makeonechangefeb19

Specifically a 10min one, 3x week, without fail ???????????? #Repost @lv_fitnessmovementcoach • • • • • Chats after class today reminded me of this – our journey as mothers now is different to any other time. Similar but not the same as the previous generation. We face challenges that they did not. This isn’t to lament our position but honour its uniqueness – the skills we need now, the compassion for ourselves is what we need to recognize & address. I have created and grown a community of women at STRONG FIT MUMs to offer a place where women can be, just as they are. A space for women raising young families to reconnect with themselves & their bodies once more ????
