It’s a Public Holiday and We Want to Hang With YOU!

There is heaps happening at IntoYou this winter, including training as per usual on this Queen’s Birthday! If you’d like to take advantage of the public holiday, there are $38.50 sessions at 11am and 3pm today!

In other news, we have a chiropractor looking after us on Friday afternoons. Clara is from In Palm’s Care, and also looks after horses. She has a gentle style with her adjustments, that includes soft tissue therapy (read: MASSAGE! woho!). She is also a lover of the powerplate, have rehabilitated from a fall from her horse with one. Clara’s treatments are health-fund rebate-able, $100 for the first consult and $80 thereafter.

Jen is a long time client of IntoYou, and is occupying the gym on Sunday afternoons delivering massage therapy! Jen has been on 3 of our overseas trips; we know her well as a kind, intelligent, and adventurous woman! She has just qualified as a therapist, but has studied several different styles over the past 6mths. She has also been actively seeking further education in the area of Myofascial therapy, which is along the same lines as the way we train our clients, which makes her massage more effective in conjunction with our training than other methods. Plus, while she’s getting her hours up she is great value for YOU, $65/hr. We have screens to protect your privacy 🙂

Anna and Clare have been filming the first of what will hopefully be regular workout videos! There’s one for each step of our 6-step Restore Your Core and Pelvic Floor program, and they are designed to compliment our True Core Training eBook (available at Shop for EBook). We are still Muscle and Movement screening each and every one of YOU! These sessions take 45-60 minutes, plus a further 1-2hrs for Clare, analysing the video and formulating a report, which is then shared with you and your trainer. The screen is thorough, and includes:

  • Flexibility
  • DISC personality check
  • Goal setting
  • Emotional markers

Run Group started a couple of weeks ago. It has a variety of skill levels involved, from two absolute beginners to one quite accomplished runner. These two beginners were given an option on the weekend to do a shorter course, but decided not to do it, and ran a full 6km on their first or second session! That was an admirable achievement, and they will definitely be competent runners by the end of this course. Run Group this year will be participating in the Sydney Harbour 10km, on 12th July, and the Pub2Pub, on the 23rd August. The Group includes casual gym entry, a Lorna Jane singlet, a weights and a run program, as well as the 930am Saturday sessions and run entry. It is an enormously positive and mutually supportive group to be a part of, and we really enjoy our coffee together afterwards!

Next gym trip is another attempt at Nepal! However with their recent devastation in mind, we are also planning a Plan B for Tibet. Both trips will be $3200, with Plan A being Nepal. We will decide before the end of February whether we should switch the trip, as a team. Registration and deposit will be due October 2015. Itinerary for both trips is available here: Tibet and Nepal Intineraries and will be subject to modifications depending on circumstances and participant numbers.

Finally, Tough Mudder training will start August 30th. Our Tough Mudder group does not include the event – you can register for that (look up team IntoYou) here: Tough Mudder SUNDAY 22nd November Rego . Tough Mudder training group is 12 weeks of bootcamp! We get outside and wallow in Springtime weather, crawling up sandhills, flipping tyres, and plunging ourselves into the ocean. The group also includes gym membership, weights program, and a pristine white T Shirt for your to trash at the event, for $199.

With everything that is going on, it is not surprising that our sense of community is getting stronger and stronger! What a healthy thing to be a part of. It is because of this that we are open today, because we want to hang out with YOU!!
