We send an email every week with an Update on what’s happening at the gym! This week is a particularly exciting one so we will tell the world in our blog too!

Follow this link for an article from The Guardian (, with a simple explanation on how the Power Plate works. You can see why we use it in our little studio!! One thing the article does not mention is how the plate is unstable, which means our deepest abdominals have to “switch on” to stay standing. This is fantastic for our pelvic floor, and for people who have trouble deliberately tuning into those difficult muscles (because we can stimulate them unconsciously). The article also says that you don’t really get a cardiovascular workout when using the plate, but I am inclined to disagree and I believe our IntoMums would too! Cardio, balance, flexibility, or strength training on the Power Plate is possible, and is largely determined by the trainer and their programming. It is like saying you can’t get cardio benefits from dumbells; you only have to look at modalities like Crossfit to see that this is untrue…
In other news we are busy training for Hike Nepal! Our latest update is here: . You are welcome to join us on any of our hikes, as they are a part of our fundraising effort for an Australian charity that is active in Nepal ( You can also support our effort by going online (or in the studio) and purchasing one of their hand-made products ( Every item you buy is essentially employing the women that crafted it in Nepal, allowing them to break the poverty cycle and create new opportunities for themselves. It is a truly empowering charity and i hope that everyone gets on board to support it! Hiking group is now only $149 for the package, or $25 a week. We have 2 hikes scheduled this week; Tuesday 1030am from the studio for a 6k hill hike, and Saturday 730am from Frenchs Forest for a full day hike. Contact the studio for more details!
Every year we do an oversea’s adventure, and we will be leaving on April 9th for Nepal this year. If you are interested in our adventures, you can vote for the 2017 trip here: . The trips always include training, and we use reputable travel companies once at our destination.
Clara is our resident Chiro and is packed again on Friday! She treats us every Friday afternoon from 1pm. We have just 2pm, 430pm, and 6pm available for chiro, laser, or accupuncture treatments.

IntoGIRLS is on every weekday (except Friday) at 430pm. We are looking for 2 more girls to join our crew! They must be between 12-17 years old. The sessions are designed as a positive external influence for teenage girls, who may be exposed to detrimental messages about their bodies and what is healthy. We aim to deliver a supportive, encouraging environment without any of the cliques and issues of high school politics! We will try to be an adult in your daughter’s life that they can talk to, and get real information from. Please tell your friends and send them along to try it for free!!
Congratulations to our Sun Runners! We had a modest team participate on Saturday, and it was nice to see a couple of women who met through our gym running together!
Our last Mountain Bike session is on Friday at 630pm at St Ives Showground. Our team has really improved their skills over the past 10 weeks, and we are very proud of them!
