Fitter, Stronger, and Healthier YOU!
Contrary to popular belief, this time of year is a sensational time to get back to a fitter, stronger, and healthier YOU!
Firstly, it’s summer, so it is a brilliant time to hit the waves, go for a wander, or get outside generally. Plus summer is the best time to eat fruit and salads, to juice, and to chose cold meats. This is a great combination for your body. Drink plenty of water in this hot weather, and your metabolism will thank you again!
Secondly, with daylight saving (in NSW, anyway), the days are longer, and there’s time both in the morning and in the evening to go an do something. Just remember to plan and execute!
Thirdly, for many of us it’s holidays! The days are so much longer when you’re on holidays! There’s time to catch up on sleep, and participate in several activities as well! You could go for a run, have a snooze, go for a swim, read your book, and then go for a ride, all in one day! Who says you should only train once a day? Bump it up when you have the opportunity, so that your body can recover on the days that you don’t!
Fourthly, it’s party season, which is great for keeping busy. Don’t sit around the house, solving your boredom with what’s in the fridge. Meet up with people, plan some time on the beach, and keep yourself going from A to B until you drop. Being busy means you probably won’t overeat, and if you do, you’ll be more likely to burn it off. In addition, if you have to drive, it gives you a reason to say no to the extra alcoholic drinks.
Take advantage of today, and this wonderful time of year, to get fitter, stronger, and healthier. You can buck the trend and come out of the Christmas holidays better than you went in. You do not have to overeat and drink just because everyone else does!
