CHARLIE’S SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR CHRISTMAS AND BEYOND….
Christmas and the holiday time of year affects people differently, for some it’s manic with ‘to do’ lists, just surviving all the events and gatherings and school plays and shopping and for others it’s lonely and uneventful.
Below are 5 things I want you to read and if you can relate to them or they ring true for you… do it.
Merry Christmas from Charlie 🙂
1. It’s ok to say ‘No’. With all the Christmas party invites and various commitments sometimes you just have to say No. You can’t be at all the things, with all the people all of the time. If you over commit yourself you could be setting yourself up for Christmas holiday burnout.
2. Don’t put yourself bottom of the list. Your self care is never more important that when you are busy or overwhelmed so whilst you are busy doing everything for everyone else, don’t forget yourself.
3. Reach out. Christmas isn’t fun for everyone and if or someone you know is feeling lovely, please reach out. You’re never alone.
4. Spread a little kindness. Not only is this beneficial for the person on the receiving end but the act of kindness is great for your mental health too, the brain responds positively and you will feel happier for it.
5. Let it go. Going in to the New Year don’t give yourself more to do by thinking about all the things you’re going to do. Instead change the narrative and think about the things you don’t want to carry into the New Year.
